Introducing the “ST 29 A Kit” Mtb Coil Shock from Rotorua based Suspension specialists Suspension Tech International Ltd.

At last the Mtb community can buy a New Zealand made coil shock that not only competes but out performs the best in the world.

Consistent with the exacting standards and performance previously reserved for motocross riders using Factory only “A Kit Suspension” components from motorcycle suspension giants KYB, Showa and WP.

The ST29 A Kit shock is locally produced with uncompromised performance, reliability and custom tunability.

Features of the Suspension Tech “A kit” shock:

  • CNC machined in New Zealand from 6061 T6 Billet aluminium.
  • Marine grade hard-anodised silver finish.
  • All our A kit shocks get our 12.7mm (1/2 inch) E bike rated Hard chrome steel damper shaft.  With Low friction coating.
  • Low Friction PVD-coated shock shaft in a choice of a Cobalt Blue (TiN/TiO2) or Black ‘Diamond-Like Carbon’ (Me-DLC)
  • Huge 29mm body and reservoir for larger oil capacity, longer service intervals and fade free descents.
  • External tool free adjustment for Rebound, Low Speed and High Speed compression damping.
  • Oil and high pressure nitrogen gas separation via a precision machined aluminium IFP  “Internal floating piston”
  • Metric high carbon spring steel internal shims for consistent tunes.
  • Parabolic rebound needle for precise rebound metering.
  • Mono tube damper using high quality racing shock fluid.
  • Dual stage compression damping on the main piston for progressive response from small trail chatter to large jumps
  • Sprindex adjustable rate Coil System
  • All popular metric trail and Enduro sizes supported:
  • Eyelet 230 mm x 57.5 – 65mm; Eyelet 210 mm x 47.5 – 55m
  • Trunnion 205 mm x 57.5 – 65 mm, and Trunnion 185 mm x 47.5 – 55mm

Planning to transfer the shock to your next bike? No problem, Our shocks can be modified, lengthened or even changed from Trunnion to Eyelet mounts. A significant aspect of the design criteria was to produce a shock with a higher level of reliability, along with uncompromised performance and custom tunability.   “We want you to have this shock for 10 or more years”.  This could be the last high end shock you ever need to buy!

Internally tuneable “Climb Valve” shim stack

  • 2 shaft colour options (Blue or Black)
  • 2 main piston options 
  • 2 high-speed compression adjuster spring options 
  • 9 compression tunes
  • 12 total rebound tunes to suit the full range of Sprindex springs
  • Sprindex adjustable coil springs covering 340 lb to 760 lb rates

Rider adjustments and tuning options

Sprindex springs offer from 40 lbs to 110 lbs of adjustment (depending on spring rate)

    • 15 positions of tool-free low speed compression adjustment
    • 15 positions of tool-free high speed compression adjustment 
    • 15 positions of tool-free rebound adjustment
    • 2-position climb valve (actuation to suit different mounting configurations)
